We would like to start this article a bit differently than our content in the past. We have pulled from our active community at Latium to have a one on one discussion and interview with Kevin D., facilitated by our very own Kevin Steele, staff member with Latium. For the sake of clarity, we will refer to staff member Kevin Steele as KevinS, and will refer to community member Kevin as KevinD.
Interview & Discussion:
Welcome KevinD! Glad to have you with us today. Before we get started, I just have to say, your parents had impeccable taste with their choice of names. Why don’t you start off by telling us a little bit about yourself and what got you involved with the cryptocurrency industry in general?
I love meeting other Kevins! Its kinda like when you’re out in public and you see someone wearing the same shirt as you, you kinda just nod at them, acknowledging their good taste.
I’m still really new with crypto, I found out about it from a buddy of mine at work. He was bragging about his investments, and we spent hours just talking crypto. I got instantly hooked and read up on all of it.
Prior to getting into Latium, I put a large chunk of change into a project called RedChain. Well, as soon as their sale ended, all their social media presence disappeared and I freaked out. “Did I just get scammed?” I asked myself. Luckily a member of the team refunded everyone’s funds. Lesson learned, and I made sure to not jump into another project without researching it.
Great, glad to hear it, and likewise glad to have you with us in the Latium community. How did you find out about Latium? What was your initial reception or thoughts on our goal and vision?
I’m not gonna lie, your website design had me really impressed. Props to your designer on that, you should get him a newish Honda Odyssey. But obviously it was more than just the website, it was a platform I could see myself using.
There have been so many times where I needed someone good at making memes (For real though!) or a t-shirt designed for a work function. There are endless opportunities with this platform, and simplifying the hassle of paying someone is really useful.
As many of our token sale participants are aware, we have released our Alpha version of the platform, prior even to the ending of our general sale. This was to ensure and showcase our commitment to being a product focused company and laying groundwork for the future. What are your initial thoughts on the Alpha and its current state?
The Alpha platform, even with its limitations, has been absolutely put to good use by the community. I’m seeing folks using it to spread viral videos, increasing their social media footprint and the like.
Thanks for the feedback! How have you used the Alpha already? Are there any specific tasks or functions you’ve solved with it to date?
I’ve used it personally to get referrals for airdrops, even in its early state. Its great, I’m able to see a benefit to it already without even utilizing localized products and service offerings that I can see evolving there in the future.
As you may be aware, we are nearing release of our beta application version. We are VERY excited to share this with our community soon, however, are there any specific features or integrations you are most looking forward to or hoping to see?
As far as the beta goes, i’m looking forward to having a messaging system to contact employees and employers. Communication is key when you want things done right.
Right now with the Alpha, all the tasks are kind of leaning towards referral links, but hopefully we can see a wider variety of tasks created. Would be interesting to hire someone to wash your car, or likewise draw a picture of Spongebob (wait a second…that’s already possible on the Alpha).
I really do hope the user base grows exponentially, I love the Latium community and look forward to all the interesting tasks that can be created.
Thanks for the feedback!
From our initial token sale participation alone, we’ve seen an incredibly diverse group of nations of origin which has added an even wider variety of task focuses and areas of interest. How do you feel this will affect the platforms usage moving forward?
In my own usage and inspection of the platform I see people from all walks of life, ranging from the likes of the Philippines, South Africa, Asia…you name it they are on here in one way or another. I feel that someone looking for, say, a t-shirt design will be able to pull from multiple countries and cultures for a truly diversified design to utilize in their business. I love the ability to interface with workers that I would not usually have the pleasure to interact with on a daily basis.
Thank you again for your time today and your ongoing, active engagement within our telegram and discord groups respectively. We thank you again for embarking on this journey with us and look forward to the great things to come with Latium in the future.
As we continue development of the Latium platform, we aim to showcase our direct community engagement and interaction influencing our agile development process. We place priority here because at its very core, Latium remains a platform of People, accomplishing tasks created by others. We are honored and thankful for the opportunity to create a platform that we personally feel will positively disrupt the gig economy market while propelling blockchain into the daily use adoption of the general public.
Thank you for your interest in the the Latium platform and associated utility token. As always you can follow us on Twitter and join our Telegram Chat and Discord for the latest news, updates and developments as we progress.
